Learning Opportunities for Homebound Children
admincopa
With the COVID-19 pandemic causing the closure of most, if not all, aviation museums across the country, taking children who are home from school for a museum outing is of course out of the question.
However, there is an alternative for parents as Ingenium, operator of both the Canada Aviation and Space Museum and the Canada Science and Technology Museum, has a series of educational programs available online.
Some of the lessons include astronomy, how to make a compass at home with simple components and how to make a device for identifying stars using downloadable PDFs. For older students, there is a series of documentary videos made by Canadian film students analyzing the Second World War through an aviation lens.
A total of 56 educational programs are available on Ingenium’s website, although some are designed for use in a classroom setting.
