EHang Holdings Limited, which bills itself as the world’s leading ‘autonomous aerial vehicle’ (AAV) company, announced that it has obtained a special flight operations certificate (SFOC) from Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) that will allow it to conduct flight tests in Canada.

Plans are to test the EHang 216 aircraft in Quebec, becoming the first place in North America to allow flight tests of an AAV. This is not the first appearance of the EHang 216 in Canada. During last year’s ICAO 75^th anniversary celebration in Montreal, the aircraft was showcased outside of ICAO’s Montreal headquarters.
