Century Flight has cancelled plans to lead a group flight to AirVenture in Oshkosh this year. In a memo to members and the media, President Jim Moffat said the executive decided to take a break this year. “The executive of the club have decided to cancel the 2018 and give the organizers a break,” said Moffat. “Deposits will be returned to the members who have already signed up.”

Century Flight grew out of a cross-Canada flight to mark the 100th anniversary of powered flight in Canada in 2009. The group has organized flights to various locations in the intervening years, including the Okanagan and Yukon. Moffat also used the e-blast to announce his retirement as president. “On behalf of Lois and myself it has been a great pleasure working with the Century Flight Club,” he said.
