COPA Joins Industry Groups On Canadian ADS-B Mandate

admincopa

COPA has joined with leading Canadian and American aviation industry and advocacy groups to express concern over Canadian ADS-B OUT performance requirements.

In a letter to Nav Canada’s president and CEO Neil Wilson dated March 5, attention was drawn to the lack of additional engineering analysis that would help determine antennae diversity requirements. Concern was also over the cost implications for general aviation users of the proposed antennae diversity requirement. The group cites support for the efficiency and safety benefits of ADS-B technology when it is adopted “in a manner that supports general and business aviation on IFR and VFR flights.”
