Abbotsford Flying Club  put on the very first Abbottsford Air Show back in 1962 in a joint venture with the local Rotary Club. It grew quickly, and its organization was split off to a separate not-for-profit society. Today, AFC (COPA Flight 83) volunteers continue to provide essential support services to the airshow, such as hosting fly-in aircraft, on-site camping (airplanes, RVs and tents), running the General Aviation display and providing hot breakfast and shower facilities for the campers.  Such is the culture of volunteerism that many club members plan their annual vacation around the airshow in order to be available.
