January 13, 2019 — The COPA Board of Directors Western Vice-Chairman Shane Armstrong announced today that COPA Board Chair Dave McElroy has tendered his resignation as chairman and is stepping down from the board of directors as British Columbia and Yukon Director effective immediately. Mr. McElroy served tirelessly during his tenure and the board has regretfully accepted his resignation. The board wishes to thank Mr. McElroy for his strong leadership and to recognize the significant progress made during his short time as chairman.

Shane Armstrong, Saskatchewan Director, will serve as interim chair until a new chairperson is selected at the next meeting of the board directors. The B.C. and Yukon Director position will be filled after the running of a by-election on a date to be announced.

In response to this development, the COPA Board of Directors will continue to move forward with their 2019 strategic plan that builds a stronger organization for the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association.
