Citing high demand for single-engine training aircraft, the Austrian-headquartered aircraft manufacturer Diamond Aircraft has announced the return to production of the DA20-C1.
Scott McFadzean, CEO of Canadian manufacturing subsidiary Diamond Aircraft Industries Inc., is keen to promote the updated C1, which is equipped with a new state-of-the-art Garmin G500 TXi touchscreen avionics suite.
“We are excited to re-introduce the brand new DA20-C1,” said McFadzean. “Our innovative DNA is of course incorporated into the new aircraft, which showcases the latest Garmin avionics.”
The C1, certified in the utility category and often used for spin training, is powered by the 125-hp Continental IO-240. It was originally introduced in 1992 and has since seen over seven million hours in service around the world.
Deliveries of the new C1 began in August.
