This year’s Girls in Aviation Day took place at the Porter Hangar at Pearson International Airport. Porter Airlines showcased two of its newest aircraft, the Embraer E195-E2. Participants had the unique opportunity to tour one of the aircraft and engage in conversations with crew members.

Girls in Aviation Day is a global event celebrated across the U.S., Canada, Europe, Africa and Asia. The initiative aims to inspire girls and young women by showcasing various career paths and recreational pursuits within the aviation industry. Attendees at Girls in Aviation Day explore the world of aviation and aerospace through hands-on activities, interactions with women in diverse STEM fields, and valuable postsecondary and career advice.

Each booth provided a platform for girls to discover different career paths through crafts and activities. Participants were also given a backpack filled with donated swag, take-home activities, a certificate, and an activity passport.

The event radiated joy, with plenty of happy faces throughout. A special thank you goes out to all the attendees, sponsors, and volunteers for contributing to the success of this year’s event.
