New Aviation Safety Letter Issued
admincopa
Transport Canada-Civil Aviation’s quarterly Aviation Safety Letter (ASL) has been released, and within the letter pilots can find useful information that may be applicable to them.
The first edition issued in 2020 follows the new practice of offering the content in html format, meaning that readers will not be required to download a PDF document to review content – they can now simply click and read. The PDF version does remain available, as before.
Topics in the 1/2020 edition range from messages relating to COVID-19, the release of new ultralight best practices guides, a description of a Helicopter terrain awareness and warning system (HTAWS) and links to noteworthy Transportation Safety Board investigation reports.
Given the more user-friendly format, pilots are encouraged to sign up to receive emails advising of the issuance of new ASLs.
