The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum on November 11 once again proudly hosted a poignant Remembrance Day ceremony. Thousands of attendees gathered in solemnity to honour all those who have served or are currently serving in our nation’s military.

Lieutenant-General (Ret) Michael Hood, President and CEO of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, David Rohrer, and Master of Ceremony David Pridham delivered moving speeches and shared inspiring stories about the veterans.

At 11 am, a two-minute silence was observed, accompanied by the majestic flight of the Lancaster over CWHM. Piloted by Bill Craig and co-piloted by Leon Evans, the flight team continued their mission to other ceremonies after passing over the museum.

Throughout the service, nine veterans from the second World War, veterans of Korea, United Nations Peacekeeping Missions, those who served NORAD or NATO, members of the Canadian Forces (regular or reserve), including veterans of operations in the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, or Iraq, as well as members of the RAF Regiment and anyone who served in the Allied Forces, especially under the Crown, were acknowledged.

A special thank you is extended to the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, its dedicated staff, and volunteers for their meticulous preparation and hard work. Gratitude is also expressed to all individuals involved in making this ceremony meaningful.

Finally, our eternal gratitude is extended to those who have served and continue to serve, not just on Remembrance Day but every day. Their service and sacrifice have secured the freedom we cherish today. Lest we forget, and we will remember them.
