TC Adds CPL to List of Exemptions

admincopa

A newly announced exemption allows commercial pilot licence (CPL) applicants to be accepted for their flight test for either Helicopter or Aeroplane CPLs when the applicant is unable to attempt the applicable written exam prior to the flight test. The exemption applies only until December 31, 2020.

Additionally, candidates who have passed their written exam but have been unable to complete all their training prior to the end of the exam’s 24-month validity will have that validity extended to December 31, 2020.

There are numerous conditions that must be met for the exemptions to be granted, and readers who may be affected by the announcement are advised to consult the appropriate Transport Canada webpage for more details.

These measures are in addition to previously announced temporary exemptions to Transport Canada licensing requirements that have been made in response to social distancing requirements due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
